Inspired by the 1991 album Greatest Hits II, Montblanc’s special edition Great Characters Homage to Queen pays tribute to one of Queen’s most successful albums. Echoing the vibrant colour scheme of the double LP Greatest Hits II, the edition features a navy blue finish with gold-plated details. Paying homage to their musical prowess, which made the 1991 album one of the best-selling and most acclaimed albums in the world, the “tools of their trade” are delicately immortalised in precious resin: a microphone and bass guitar on the cover; a guitar and drum kit on the body. The cone features a subtle fluted pattern, a small red dot and an engraving of the Greatest Hits II release date. The crown worn by Mercury during his final performance of God Save The Queen inspired the silhouette of the special edition cap, while simultaneously serving as a metaphor for the band’s majestic character and musical legacy. The gold-plated clip is shaped like a microphone stand – a nod to one of the hallmarks of Freddie Mercury’s live performances.
