Inspired by the 1991 album Greatest Hits II, Montblanc pays tribute to one of Queen’s most successful albums with the Great Characters Homage to Queen Special Edition. Echoing the striking color scheme of the double LP Greatest Hits II, the edition features a deep blue finish with gold-plated details. As a tribute to their musical prowess, which made the 1991 album one of the best-selling and most acclaimed in the world, the “tools of their craft” are subtly immortalized in precious resin: a microphone and bass guitar on the cover; a guitar and drum kit on the barrel. The cone features a delicate knurled pattern, a small red dot, and an engraving of the Greatest Hits II release date. The crown Mercury wore during the final performance of “God Save The Queen” inspired the silhouette of the special edition’s cap top and simultaneously serves as a metaphor for the band’s majestic character and musical legacy. The gold-plated clip is designed in the shape of a microphone stand, a nod to one of the hallmarks of Freddie Mercury’s live performances.
